Mahindra Thar Variants and Color Options
Mahindra Thar is mainly offered in two variants in the Indian market, namely AX(O) and LX. When it comes to color options, it includes Everest White, Blazing Branch, Aquamarine, Red Rage, Napoleon Black, and Galaxy Grey.
Mahindra Thar Engine Specifications
The company currently offers three engine options to power the Thar. In its 4×4 variant, it uses a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine generating 152bhp of power and 320Nm of torque, as well as a 2.2-liter diesel engine producing 130bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. Both engine options are available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The Real Wheel Drive variant is equipped with a 1.5-liter diesel engine with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The same engine options are also offered in the Mahindra XUV300 in the diesel variant.
Mahindra Thar Features List
In terms of features, Mahindra equips it with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with semi-digital instrument cluster and Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity. Other highlights include cruise control, manual AC controls, steering wheel controls, height-adjustable driver’s seat, and premium leather seats.
Mahindra Thar Safety Features
Mahindra Thar has received a 4-star safety rating from Global NCAP. In terms of safety features, it offers dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, hill descent control, traction control, seat belt reminder for both front passengers, and reverse parking sensors.
Mahindra Thar Competitors
In the Indian market, Mahindra Thar competes with vehicles like the Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
Mahindra is also planning to launch its five-door Mahindra Thar in the Indian market soon, which has been spotted testing on Indian roads multiple times. It is expected to be launched in 2024.
